Halfway to Silence
As a street photographer, my practice typically involves curating and digitally collaging decisive moments captured from real-life observations. However, during the height of the Covid pandemic, I shifted to photomontage, drawing inspiration from the art books on my shelves, ranging from Renaissance to modern art. This source material allowed me to explore new layers of visual history and meaning. The cut-and-paste process felt instinctive, closely mirroring the methods I use in my usual work while offering a way to connect with artistic traditions across time.
